Chopard celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2010

Created in 1860 in the small village of Sonvilier by Louis-Ulysse Chopard, Chopard has now become one of the leading brands in the high-end watch and jewellery industry.  Entirely independent, Chopard is pursuing a time-honoured family tradition. Karl Scheufele and his wife Karin have orchestrated the company’s international development for more than 40 years (they bought the company in 1963) and are still active in the firm.  Their two children are its current co-presidents: Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele is responsible for the ladies’ collections and high jewellery, while her brother Karl-Friedrich Scheufele manages the gents’ collections and the Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier, the production site of L.U.C movements. Many projects and events have been prepared in order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the brand and to commemorate this success story.
